With Valentine’s Day slowly creeping up on us, how many of you are making plans already? Here are some ideas you might like to use for your special Valentine’s Day date this year.

  • Dinner Date

This is a no-brainer and most often, a guaranteed no-failure as well. Almost every restaurant is chockers on Valentine’s Day because a romantic dinner is the most popular choice for couples – new and old. If you’d like to do the dinner thing but try something new as well, my suggestion would be to go on a progressive dinner. So have appetisers at one, dinner at another and coffee and dessert at a third. Whatever you do, don’t forget to book in advance!

  • Cook At Home

Want a romantic dinner but would you rather stay away from the crowds? Plan a candlelit dinner at home instead. Bread, cheese, pasta and lots of wine are the perfect ingredients for my romantic dinner! Cook a fancy meal for your lover and impress them with your cooking. Better still, plan a meal and both of you can cook one dish each. It’s cheaper than eating out and definitely more intimate!

  • Visit A Theme Park/Zoo

Don’t laugh! It can be a lot of fun, especially if you’re a new couple. Doing childish things together like going on an adrenaline-pumping ride at a theme park or playing with kangaroos at a zoo, can be fun and help you open up to each other. It’s romantic in a very cute way. Plus, I’m from the Gold Coast; I couldn’t help but mention the theme parks!

  • Picnic

Why stay indoors on a Saturday when you can enjoy the day outside? Pack a picnic lunch for two, grab some wine and head out for a picnic with your date. Park or beach – where you go doesn’t matter as long as you are together and enjoy yourselves.

  • Take A Break

Since Valentine’s Day is on a Saturday this year, make it a weekend celebration. Get away from home. Go camping (for least expenditure) or plan a more elaborate weekend getaway if you will. The point is to spend time with each other by making the most of Valentine’s Day and the weekend.
